GLIMSES OF LADAKH: 3 NIGHTS / 4 DAYS

Ladakh, one of the few strongholds of Tibetan Buddhist life, culture and religion, lies cradled in the heart of the Great North-Western Himalaya. Leh, the capital of Ladakh nestled in the Indus River valley, was once a trading town at the junction of the historic silk route from China and central Asia to the plains of India.

 

Based in the town of Leh (11,500 ft. / 3505 m), the journey includes & unveils many fascinating excursions to cliff side Gompas (monasteries) inhabited by peaceful Buddhist monks, pretty villages & surrounding countryside, high passes and dramatic mountain scenery.

 

Place to cover =, Khardong la pass, Thiksey , Shey , Hemis Monastries, Shanti stupa(The sun set point)

 

ITINERARY

 

Day 01 Arrive Leh,

Upon arrival in Leh, welcome by our local representative and transfer to a Ladakhi style guest house or Hotel. Rest of the day you require to take a complete rest for acclimatization to the arid high altitude of Leh (3505 m) in the evening will enjoy the sunset point (Shanti stupa). Overnight in Hotel.

 

Day 02 Explore Indus valley.

 

On this day you will go a sightseeing trip to some ancient monasteries and most popular in this area.

 

Shey Gompa is about 15 kms from Leh. It used to be the summer palace of the kings of Ladakh. There are lots of Stupas and Gompas built around the palace. Shey palace as built by Deldan Namgyal in the beginning of 17th century AD. Main attraction in Shey is the 12m Shakyamuni Buddha statue inside the Dresthang Gompa.

 

Thiksey Gompa, close to Shey is about 17 kms from Leh. The monastery is considered to be one of the most beautiful in Ladakh and belongs to the Gelukspa order. This Monastery is more than 500 year old.

 

Hemis Monastery, about 45 kms south of Leh it is one of the most famous and largest monastery in Ladakh. It belongs to the Drukpa order and was founded in the early 17’Th century. The setting is perfect with the smonastery cradled in a lovely valley, surrounded by Mountain and fronted by long Mani walls.

 

Sindhu ghard Darshan to Holy Indus River. Amir Khan School Or 3 –Idiot shoot school.

 

Overnight in Hotel.

 

Day03Leh–KhardungLa(18380fts)–Leh (58kms)(3-4hrs)

 

In the morning drive for the Khardung - La Pass. This is the ultimate challenge of the trip.

 

It is the highest motor able road in the world taking you to a dizzy 5,600m! The view from

 

the top is spectacular, stretching from the Indus valley in the South over the endless peaks and ridges of the Zanskar range to the giants of the Sesser Massif in the North. You can feel proud of a true achievement as you finish the trip with your final satisfying descent. Evening shopping and move around market Car will drop you to the Market you have to go back to hotel by

 

exploring .overnight in Hotel.

 

Day 04 Drop to Airport,

Leave Ladakh with sweet memories.
